Mehmet AKTAŞ

Born in Elazığ in 1968, Mr. Mehmet AKTAŞ, Director General of Turkish National Police, graduated from the Department of Public Administration at the Faculty of Political Sciences of Istanbul University in 1990. After winning the exam he entered in 1994, he started his Local Authority career as a candidate for district governor of Malatya. During the candidacy process, he received 8 months of training in England on the language and the English Management System.

He served as District Governor in Aksaray-Gülagac, Malatya-Kuluncak, Muş-Hasköy, Düzce-Cumayeri and Rize-Çayeli districts.

Between 2010 and 2014, he served as Branch Manager and Head of Department respectively in the General Directorate of Provincial Administration of the Ministry of Interior.

With February 2014 Decree, he became Head of the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs of the Ministry of Interior.

He was appointed as Governor of Karabük by the Governors Decree dated June 1, 2016.

As of 30/06/2017, he started to serve as Governor of Şırnak.

He was appointed as the General Director of Turkish National Police by the Appointment Decree published in the Official Gazette dated July 18, 2019 and started his position on 20/07/2019.

Governor-Director General of Turkish National Police Mehmet AKTAŞ is married and has 3 children.

He was appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors of our Company on 26/04/2021.​
